Choose your own adventure: This vibrator connects to naughty e-books
French startup E.Sensory is introducing Little Bird, a vibrator connected to erotic literature; it’s synchronized via Bluetooth to an e-reading app. The company is showcasing the device at CES this week.
The mechanics are pretty simple: You can access the stories in the app from your smartphone or tablet (iOS or Android), turning your device into an e-book as well as a vibrator remotely. Interact with the story by shaking or caressing your device or breathing on the screen, which will trigger vibrations that the author chooses. At any time, you can stop or change the vibrations or replay a sequence.
You don’t have to go solo on this steamy narrative journey, though.
You can invite your partner to take control of your phone, read aloud and control the vibration patterns while you sit back and relax. You can invite your partner to take control of your phone, read aloud and control the vibration patterns while you sit back and relax.
The company says the “vibrating love egg” is discrete and quiet, a.k.a. you can use it anywhere at any time. In the Indiegogo campaign video, one couple is even using it at the dinner table.
“Being a great fan of erotic literature, I had the desire to combine the power of words to the potential of connected devices by creating a new way of reading and having fun alone or in a couple,” E.Sensory founder Christel Le Coq, said in the video.
The G-spot vibrator, which comes in three colors, has 10 vibration settings and can be used for short or long-distance games.
The company has worked with publishers and “nonprofessional” authors to create new content made specifically for the B.Sensory app, which will offer both standard and connected versions of the stories. French publishers like La Musardine, J'ai Lu, Éditions Blanche and Éditions Paulette have already jumped on board.
The company added that French and American authors, including Evangeline Anderson, who writes paranormal and sci-fi erotic romance, and M. Christian, who combines erotica with sci-fi and horror, are already working on new works for the app. So far, there’s no news on whether Fifty Shades of Grey will make the list in the future, but we wouldn’t bet against it.
Little Bird has already closed pre-orders for Valentine's Day, but you can grab yourself one in the spring for $140 here. The free app will be available this month.
